the rasputina/murder by death/envie show kicked ass last night. i was pleasantly surprised by murder by death who is now on my list of favorite bands. they got swallowed in their music onstage...and there's just nothing sexier than a cute chick with a chelsie haircut and beautiful electric cello thrashing about onstage. she was such a sweetie too.
snuck in two guiness i had in the car, and bought two beers while i was there...so by the end of the night, i was a little tipsy-fied. going to the show last night reminded me of why i'm a musician...why music will always be my life. while i was there, i met a local chick with a violin in her hand...it "wanted to come with her". her and i have very similar musical ideas...both classically trained, but wanting to write our own music, and have a more improvisational band. we went outside during intermission to play for each other. it was really great because we're at the same level musically...and as a musician, especially with an instrument like a violin that takes years to learn...then even more years to connect to enough to let your soul flow through the music. we exchanged numbers, and i'm looking forward to getting something together once i move.
also talked to renee, lead singer of envie. she actually remembered me from the time i talked about jamming at their asheville show. she's in the studio 3 weeks out of the month atm, recording...but said she'd like to get together sometime after she gets settled back in atlanta again.
after the show, i drove straight to asheville. i was so exhausted after dancing for 4 hours...the only thing that kept me going was knowing soon i'd be in my family's arms again. went off the road a few times though, and kept falling asleep at the wheel. i'm very thankful and surprised that i got home and didn't get pulled over.
now i'm off to atlanta again...this time with family in tow. we're going to stay in a hotel until winter can find a job, and we can get our finances straight. i'll probably be selling plasma again for money. i'm not sure how much computer access i'm going to have...so i'll try to keep you all informed on my life.
if anyone in atlanta wants my phone number...send me an e-mail.

I should've snuck in something to drink too. I will have to do that next time.
That's really cool you met that girl. You should get together and play. Maybe you could be like Rasputina, but with violins.
