Another quick update: work continues to be very demanding of my time and sanity. School term ends July 30th (my birthday!) and I'm not sure what I'm teaching next term. Desperately trying to kick this Adjunct contract-to-contract cycle, and find a full-time gig with health benefits.
In other news, I have been mildly social: went to 2 July 4th parties (didn't drive to either) and had a blast! I also went home to KY to help out with some family stuff and caught up with a bunch of people from my high school graduating class. I don't really ever go back to KY or keep up with these folks -- we crashed the previous year's reunion party and I actually had a lot of fun drinking and partying with folks I had not seen in 20 years. It was fun times...given that it was rural KY.
I'm trying to find: more time to be social (obviously); I still don't have that "core" group of folks I call for a quick dinner or movie or drink. I'm also trying to find a regular gaming group -- I've sort of got one, but they seem bent on trying D&D 4E and I'm just not a fan. I bought the new Ghostbusters game for PC and it's entertaining, but I'm not rushing home to play it, either.
All in all, I'd say things are good, I'm just at that point where I need to kick it up a notch and I need some things to fall in place before I really feel like I'm set -- some kind of somewhat steady sex would be good too, but I'm not really trying to get a girlfriend at the moment, and I don't do one-night stands, so....probably not likely.
Summer heat is pretty bad this year, or so it seems, so I'll be glad when Fall rolls around. Until then, things are going well, and I'll just keep on trucking along.
