I returned intact from Megacon. I had a great time. I ate lunch with my old high school friend and one time girlfriend. I got to meet her kid and hang out for a while. I didn't spend too much in the dealers' room and got my Elf cleric up to 4th level. Looking forward to trying to get into more Living Forgotten Realms games.
Since then I've slept a lot (4 days of intense gaming really drained me). And now I've shifted into taking my wife to pre-op medical appointments mode before her abdominal surgery next week. She's getting a giant fibroid removed as well as what's left of her girl plumbing. She's nervous about the surgery but I'm doing my best to keep her calm.
My emotions are mixed on the latter but this is the second time she's gotten a huge fibroid on one of her ovaries so she wants them out to avoid anymore surprises in the future. We'll never have to use a condom again but no chance for kids of our own either. I don't think that I've completely wrapped my brain around this yet.
In unrelated news I finished watching the entire Avatar: the Last Airbender series (awesome show) and finished reading A Game of Thrones (good book but weighty at 800+ pages). I've started reading the next book in the Song of Ice and Fire series, A Clash of Kings which is even longer and introduces even more characters. I'll get a lot of reading done while at the hospital and while taking care of her for the next few weeks (it'll be 3 weeks minimum for her recovery depending on how far they need to cut).
