Been putting this off long enough, so as Tropical Storm Ernie creeps upon me, here's an actual post into my blog. I guess I better start with intro shit for archival purposes.
My name's Alex, known over most of the Interwebs as Wyrdlyng since about 1991 (wyrd as in Fate; so it comes out to "creature of fate"). I'm of Hispanic descent (story of my name to be related some other time), and have a younger brother and sister (they're twins). I was born and raised in Miami (mostly on the Beach). Got married many years back (and still serving that sentence
) and am about to finish getting my B.A. Degree from Florida Atlantic University (schooling history is another story for another day).
I like video games (rpgs and strategy especially), anime and manga (get mine freshly subtitled from Japan - thank you, torrents), wargames (40K, Warmachine, and Confrontation in current rotation), card games (normal and ccgs), boardgames (if you like games check out Fantasy Flight's stuff), making models (got boxes of Gundam kits to finish), watching clever, witty, and wrong things (British comedies, Daily Show, Colbert Report, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Venture Bros., etc.), reading (like Fiction, History, and Philosophy), and discussions (I don't like believe in small talk).
In essence, I'm a geek and mostly harmless (mostly...) but I'm fun-loving, laid back, and interesting. Plus I avoid Geeking out in front of others.
