My last few days have been... interesting.
Of course, right now, the only part of it that really matters is last night. (The night before honey and I got into a huge "so where are you sleeping tonight so I can pick somewhere else" kind of fight. But that doesn't matter after yesterday...) I went to a photography seminar... and not just ANY photography seminar, it was a Sandy Puc and Jerry Ghionis seminar. Sandy is AMAZING... she's kind, and funny and sweet, a great photographer and a great marketer. But for me... I really went for Jerry. In my mind, he's a GOD of photography, (I'm sure he would object... but he's not here... so ). Jerry and his wife are two of the most extraordinary humans I've ever met; funny, charming, charismatic... I really could go on and on, (and have been, you can ask my family... every few words out of my mouth since getting home has been either Jerry or Melissa).
I have so much to do, but really meeting and hanging out with Jerry, (but mostly Melissa) has really been the highlight of my year (last few years actually). They have no idea how much it meant to me... (even though I cooed over them the whole time... it's still nothing compared to how I feel).... I was crying when it was time to leave. I really didn't want to. I just wanted to be part of their lives a little (a lot) longer...
Meeting your idol/mentor is amazing when s/he's as amazing as the people I met last night.

HOORAY for meeting your mentor(s). It sounds like you all made a fantastic personal connection. That can make all the difference in creative work. May you develop purposeful and productive relationships with them. You have the talent - now you are getting the connections!
