First off, barium, it is a sailboat. She doesn't have her mast up yet. But she does have one, (and the rigging), and it's part of our to-do list to get the mast up after we sand and paint the deck. I also don't have many pictures yet, but will be posting a TON when we get down there!

The pictures that I have: yes, I'm doing the "stupid" thing of buying a boat sight-unseen except these few pictures. But have done a lot of studying about the kind of boat, and know we can fix anything that it needs as long as it floats, (which we know it is, at it's floating now.)

To answer your questions...

Are you guys all going to fit in that boat without killing each other? Oh, and where is it?
I have no idea how well we'll fit on it. There is enough bed space for us all, but bed space and living space are totally different. There's a V-berth, an aft cabin and two wing berths out towards the amas. This should be enough beds for the 5 of us. I'm counting on us living most of the time outside... The boat is 35 feet long and with the amas, it's 20 feet wide. I'm actually more concerned with enough space for the animals, (we have 2 cats, a dog and a parrot).

It's currently in Ft Myers. We're going to be there for a bit while we get the boat ready and put together. And I have family that lives in Naples (which is only about 45min south), so I'm going to try to visit them some and all... (and see if I can get them to help my start building my tropical/beach portrait portfolio).

Sticking around Philly for a while, going south, home schooling the kids, what will the boys do for work?

Nope! I'm done with living in Philly!! We're going to be moving onto the boat in Ft Myers to do the work. Then, we're going to be moving it down to Key West. We got to live there for about a 1 1/2 years, a while ago, (pre-Steve). I really, really loved my life down there. (To a point where when I came up to philly to visit once, I was dancing at a club to make a little money to be able to go to the Renaissance Faire... I had guys get PISSED at me because I was so happy... apparently strippers aren't supposed to be happy... of course i don't do that any more... but it was funny.0

I've actually homeschooled the girls all their lives. They've never even been inside a school, except the one time that we went to see Peter Pan done by a children's theater. So, we'll continue homeschooling... Actually, next "school year" we're going to technically be part of a private school... I found an umbrella school that all i have to do is turn in original paperwork, then send in attendance, and we can school however we like.

Work is going to be an interesting thing down there, and alot of it will really depend. Alan's currently working for a small start-up company. He's a part owner, (20%).... We're hoping that we can start getting at least 10% of that sent to us, (and have 10% reinvested in the company). If we get that, it should cover the cost of living down there. (We live really low-budget down there.) If we can work that out, we can do pretty much any jobs we want to and use that money to pay off debt. (Of course Steve will be needing to pay child support...) But we'd be able to do more of what we LIKE. Actually, speaking of 'work' my daughters are both wanting to learn about photography at least enough to be able to help me. And once Kali's 14 (she's 12 now), she'll be old enough to actually work for me.

I'll be in Philly during the day on Sat/Sun 16 & 17 April, starting a Broad St, wanna go get a coffee?
if I'm still here sure! Text me.

I could go on and on about my life down there. If it's anything like last time (which it will be considering we're still going to be anchored out. (I don't like marinas.) It's still going to be like camping... except that this boat is even less together then the last couple we had. We're going to be needing to work on it to get it "livable"... I don't even know what the boat comes with... except it has mast, rig and sails... Other then that, it'll be a surprise. I was told there was a toilet... though it looks like there only a portapotty in it now. I have no idea of we'll have any way to cook. I don't think there's any cushions, but who knows... it's all really a toss up. And I'll be writing about and documenting our adventure. smile
