Whoosh. What a week to come out of limbo. And I'm on extra-slow dial up here on weekends.
Spent most of the week in my lab trying to make up the hours I've been neglecting due to snowboarding. Then spending more hours on the snow. Counter-productive? Maybe. But fun.
BX Friday was good, I was at a hill where a friend of mine works. Hadn't seen each other since we worked a course together before Christmas, so we caught up and managed a run of laid-out carves on the plate setups, playing mach 1 slalom with the lift line poles. Man, did we look purty.
Came 5th in the BX: I took out all the rest of the girls in the semi's trying a high-speed pass on the inside of one of the too-tight banked turns. Oops.
Benefit: I met the sweetest girl in the consolation finals. Really rippin' rider, we played high speed human bumpercars all the way down the steep, rutted course. Nothing gets the heart pumping and the body tingling like a really close, suicidal fight to the finish. Then we bonded on the chairlift ride up, giggling out the dregs of adrenaline surges. We decided we must ride together later..
And then taught all this morning and coached my GS team through their second race. Now drying boots. To go hit the park n' pipe under the lights and the fresh-falling snow like star dandruff on the black silk sheets of the night sky.
