I'm considering a serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor to treat my fibromyalgia. I don't like psychiatric meds, but I can't go on like this and I have TRULY tried EVERYTHING else. Nobody has exhibited more discipline and will power than I have with diet and exercise. I quit drinking, I eat no sugar, sweetener, vinegars, nothing fermented, no gluten, no yeast... my diet is so restricted...

i don't want big muscles, i just don't want to look like i'm starving.
my upperarms are almost thinner than my forearms...

what's that stuff supposed to do that you're considering to take? never heard of it. and why the extreme diet?

They've come a long way since Prozac was first put on the market over 20years ago and amongst the scores of people I've known to be taking SSRI's the side effects are really minimal. Some drowsiness for a few weeks and sexual problems that usually go away too (difficulty having an orgasm or lower libido). Since you've quit drinking anyway, that wouldn't be an issue but there can be weird interactions when mixed with alcohol.

This is a cool website for just the quick overview of a medication: Health Canada Drug List

I'd say give it a try with an open mind, it may take a few months for it to take full effect, but they can be very helpful. So why not?

last night was my fav event of the year. my friends hold a film festival in their barn... NFB Canada short films from the 50s, 60s & 70s... old reels about 4 to 8 minutes long. I wore 10 layers of clothing - as did everyone who attended. it was minus 4 celcius and we were out there for hours. GREAT films! Great times.
