thanks to everyone who wished bad karma on the fukker that stole my bike. I got a pretty good replacement from a neighbour who had one in their shed that they never used. now I just have to buy an extra long seat post - I hate it when your legs don't extend fully when you pedal ... and I kinda have ridiculously long legs. but I should have it fixed up and ready to ride in a few days. bought a new lock (hopefully better than the last one) and a bell, and found a milk crate for the back of it, bought some gear clamps to attach the crate

all together I'll back on the road for about $130 ... not bad, but it was money I should not have had to spend. but I'll have to trust that something good will happen and it will all even out
