A downside to having roommates, family members or no:
I hate practicing singing when anyone can hear me.
Now my dad is here and downstairs watching football, which means he isn't paying attention to my noise, but still, he can sure hear me going at it up in my room. And... especially when I'm pretty darn rough at the song I'm singing, I don't like being heard doing that.
So... enough for this afternoon, anyway. Maybe if I'm still motivated for it I'll practice some more tomorrow. My sister will likely be here, but her room is down the basement, farthest possible point from my room, probably won't be able to hear me much, and I can deal with that.
The song is coming together. There are a number of rough spots (but those will work out with more practice), and I'm a little bummed that I can't hit the one big note full-voice. It's not high at all, and... it's one of those mental things. I'm fully capable of that note. I can actually hit it, and I do several other times in the song. But in this spot, it's a long hold, and I hit it, but then I can't hold it without tightening something that then makes it break up. The song is still fine with that note in falsetto, so that's not going to stop me from performing it should I want to come Tuesday. But I still should be able to sing that note, and I wish I knew how to get through that block.
Going to do some errands and then go to the gym and talk to the guy who sold me my membership the other day, then calls to tell me I won a membership, then calls again to tell me I should come check out their big sale this weekend. Is he a little confused? He doesn't need to keep calling me to try to sell me something. I already bought a membership. But, hey, if I won something, he should give me something off what I just paid for. At any rate, I'm going to stop by and see if I can find out what's up and remind him that I already bought a membership, and he can (needs to) stop calling me.
I'm thinking since I'm going over anyway, I'll do my weight routine while I'm there, then go back over late tonight and just run, when I won't have to wait for the cardio equipment.
