Yaaaay! I finally got to the Venice Beach drum circle! It wasn't as large as some other times, Gremlin said, and it got shut down at 7:30 pm, although it seemed later than that. Probably just cause of the great mild weather in Feb. thing, and it being warm but dark so early. We got there about 4, so we got in several good hours of drumming though. Really really cool.
April and a couple of her friends got there a while after we did, and we all drummed together and then went out for pizza after. Plus, we found this building with these cool pillars, which were flat on top, and just DEMANDED to be climbed onto! Gremlin got right up there, and I couldn't quite make it before dinner... hands and arms very tired from drumming, odd as that might sound. It's more strenuous than it might seem though. But, I was determined that after dinner, I was going to climb that thing, and I did! I'm kind of scared of heights, and it was mentally tough to raise myself to a sitting position on top of the pillar after pulling myself to sort of be lying across the top initially. But with lots of encouragement from everyone, I did sit up there, and there are pictures to prove it. Not that I have them ready to post yet. I do hope to post pics of some of these adventures at some point though.
Meanwhile, it's been a ton of tax paperwork around here, but this was a great fun day, and a nice break from the filing and data entry. Also I leave here in a few days to go back to Colorado for a couple of weeks. I don't want to be going, but I committed a year ago to working the Garden and Home show with my family for our store, plus I have my court appearance for my car accident last November. Since I'm going back, I'm going to drive back here, bringing back my music gear and some more of my things that I didn't bring initially. Now that I'm staying for real though, I'll get some more of my things out here, and have the car with me for in case it is needed.
I'm not looking forward to being away from here at all, really going to miss Gremlin and the studio while I'm gone. We'll be back to being linked via cell phone, I'm sure, but that won't be the same as being together all the time. I will have to hope the two weeks or so that I'm gone go by very fast, so I can get back out here and back to everything I really want to be doing.
