Pulled the classic "this will be funny later" move yesterday. The story goes like this.... I'm the laundry guy at home. So, yesterday after class I came home and got the laundry ready to wash. Our wash room is 5 floors down in the basement (no elevator). We only have 1 washer and one dryer. Therefore, it takes a few runs up and down the stairs.
Anyway, I grabbed the basement keys (classic skeloton keys) and took off to the basement. I got everything loaded, wash started and headed back up stairs. Two steps up from the basement, it dawned on me that I'd only grabbed one set of keys... not the ones to our apartment. Shit! I have on Teva flip-flops and Kera's not going to be home for 2+ hours.
Think Cleveland.... Oh, your fixie is in the bike room and unlocked. I hopped on the fixie and took off, carefully. If you're never ridden a fixie, they're a breed all unto themselves. Now, if you're familar with clipless pedals, you'll know where I'm heading here. Clipless pedals, flip-flops and a fixie with no brakes.
Somehow, I rode over and back to Kera's office without slapping a pedal on my shin or getting hit and/or arrested for having no brakes on my bike (mandatory in Munich).
We did the secondary ikea run last night. Our buddy Lurch (crazy Scotsman) drove us out in his girlfriends station wagon. We got almost everything we needed. Somehow, we managed to get it in his car as well.
Today, I get to put some of it together, install some lights, etc. Oh, I also need to do some laundry as well.
I have all of next week off of school and we're, theoretically, supposed to get our shipping container today or early next week. That'd be perfect timing as I'd have lots of time to put things in their place.
Have a great weekend gang!
That's my day.
