Well, H1N1 has now infected my immediate world in principal if not in immediate biological fact. My overseas business travel planned for next week has been canceled in what may most likely prove to be an excess of caution. I had mixed feelings about having to take the trip in the first place, so now I have similarly mixed emotions about the cancellation, having expended at least some effort to psych myself up for it. In the end I don't think it's a great loss, but missed travel is always missed opportunity. I will never know. Of course, we never do. In some distant alternate universe another version of me does go, does know, and does not have access to what happens here in this version instead. Finally, nothing is lost to the totality. So my feeble understanding of modern physics says, at least.
Unexpected sunshine has suddenly appeared through the apartment window. Alas, the laundry must still be done. I can only hope the clearing perseveres.
Here comes the sun . . .
Viola!
