As I mentioned in my last blog, my daughter, Ellen, was going to be in New York for a wedding this past weekend, and was going to be with me and her sister, Heather, for Father's Day.
I originally thought the wedding was Saturday. I found out last Thursday that the wedding was actually on Sunday, Father's Day. Original plans had to be scrapped. The new plan was for Heather to drive Ellen to the wedding, pick her up about four and then the two of them would spend the rest of the day with me.
On their way to pick me up, my daughters got got stuck behing a huge accident on the expressway. There was nothing to do but wait for them to get to my apartment. I knew it wasn't anyone's fault, but I still felt angry and stressed. I felt like the day was ruined.
I was finally picked about 6:45. I tried to calm down, but was still in a bad mood. To make a long story short, I wound up having a great time during the time we had left to spend together. We went out for sushi, one of my favorite foods. After, we went to Heather's house and talked and had some good laughs. I logged onto SG and told them a liittle about some of my friends. I also showed them the comments that were left on my family pics and on Annette's and my wedding picture.
My daughters were very touched by the warm and loving comments that were posted. I'm glad that I could expose my daughters to SG in such a beautiful way.
I met up with Katalina this morning. She was in New York for a few days and suggested that we meet for breakfast. I had never met her before and was looking forward to it. She's even more beautiful than her photos. She's also super nice. We wound up walking around and sitting in Bryant Park and getting to know each other. After only a short time, I felt like we had known each other forever. She was so easy to talk to about anything and everything. If both of us hadn't had appointments, we coud have talked all day.
She's the first of my out of town friends that I've met in person. I'm determined that she won't be tha last. We agreed that we'd get together again the next time she comes to New York. It was a beautiful morning all around.
I was thinking about what would make me forget my ongoing troubles. I thought of something, but have no idea how to make it happen. I was picturing me and Jennifer Morrison on a deserted island. Any suggestions on how to make it happen?
Wishing all of you much love and happiness.

I lived in the Bronx until I was 5. So from 1970 to 1975 lived someplace called "The Surry," I think. It may have been on Tilden Street. Were we there at the same time and how far were we from each othet? I bet you met me when I was little!
