What a fantastic ten days. My daughter, Ellen, my grandchildren, Alexa and Bailey, and my son in law, Patrick, headed back home to North Carolina earlier today. Along with my other daughter, Heather, who lives here in New York, I got a chance to get away from the tedious everyday routine I'm used to.
Activities included an amusement park, a Mets game, the Bronx Zoo the Long Island Children's Museum, and various other things. I had so much fun with Alexa and Bailey. I couldn't get enough of being with them.
Although Heather has known Mae-Ann for about three months now, Ellen hadn't met her until last week. They hit it off right away. That was no surprise, since Ellen knows how happy I've been since I met Mae-Ann. Before they left, Elen and Patrick gave me my birthday gift, since they won't be here on my actual birthday, next Thursday. The gift was two tickets for the Yankees-White Sox game on September 18th. I'm planning to go to at least two other games in that series. I plan to take Heather, Mae-Ann and Lyrical to one game apiece.
As I mentioned, next Thursday is my birthday. I'll be 61 years old. This past year has been quite dramatic. I sold my home, found Mae-Ann, had a cancer scare, lost a close friend to suicide, and experienced a change in the nature of my relationship with Lyrical. Everything has been pretty settled for the last two months or so. I hope the coming year doesn't have nearly as much drama as the previous one did.
With Heather's help, I'll probably post a number of pics this coming Wednesday.
I hope everyone is well and happy.
