Last Friday I went to see the ballet Dracula with my classmate Marie. We managed to get cheap student prices, which was good - but I still felt very classy and sophisticated going to a ballet.

Julia came over again and we had another Singstar-athon. Poor Steve had a tantrum because I managed to beat him at the only two songs he is good at, Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf and Spandau Ballet's Gold - I'd been practising since the last time!
For the first time in ages, I called up my American host parents, Nancy and Jack, who live in Iowa. It was nice to hear their voices again, and amusing to hear the happenings of my old friends... "So-an-so's gotten married, Whatsisname has a drug problem, Mrs Whatserface the maths teacher has retired..." I miss them all a lot.

Then again, Nancy says my American high school 10-year reunion should be happening in 2007, which gives me ample time to save enough money to visit them again. Hopefully by then I can boast about being a successful playwright or screenwriter.

I'm in a weird place right now. That is to say, physically I am at home sitting at my computer, but emotionally... I dunno.

_biblia_:
Sounds like emotionally you're thousands of miles away. Iowa, huh? I go to Wisconsin for a couple weeks every summer-- we could meet up at the Mississippi River!
