I'm a bad boy. I called in sick at work today without actually being sick.
To be honest, I really wasn't feeling up to scratch. This was due to being up 'til 3am the previous night playing a huge Halo 2 match with a headache and an empty stomach. Was a good game though. Almost convinces me to buy an Xbox.
I broke my CD drought (of months and months) last week by purchasing 2 albums 2nd hand: Tanya Donelly's Whiskey Tango Ghosts and John Mayer's Heavier Things.
I've always loved Tanya's music. I listened to the first track off this new album while watching the rain and I burst into tears, it was so beautiful.
Just for fun I did a search of the SG boards on both artists, and I was surprised at the amount of vitriol aimed at John Mayer. Okay, so his music is mainstream and inoffensive. So? Mainstream and inoffensive has a place in music too. I find his latest album quite moving, though more for the melodies than the lyrics. Sometimes stuff doesn't have to be groundbreaking to matter. But that's just my opinion.
School is busy in spurts. At least we have some breathing space now. We watched Wag the Dog the other day, in a class on media and ethics. Good stuff.
Sin City is released here next Thursday! I thought it wouldn't be a for another month. Can't wait to see it.
I'm currently playing Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - being a high-tech spy is cool fun. If the lights in your house start going out, one by one, it's probably me. I won't hurt you... but I can't let you see me. Top secret hijinks and all.

To be fair, he's going through some rough times too, but if we can't turn to each other. . .
Today is a bright sunny day and I'm going to go spend it at the ocean.
