Every SuicideGirl had a day job once, and probably still does. Got a make a living. But I also know a lot employers frown on visible tattoos and piercings. Once some potential bosses see those... toss that application/resume.
I'm curious to hear about these experiences. Where were you turned away? Were they explicit about why they weren't bringing you on, or was it only implied? Did you ever come into a job you already had, wearing a new piece of art or with a new piercing, and then have them cut you loose? And when you did find a place which would let you be the way you are, what kind of a job was it?
Anyway, this is all valuable stuff for me in my work, and as a human being who cares about treating other people with respect whether they work for you or not, so please tell me your stories. I appreciate everything you choose to share.
