Ohhhh maaannn............
Sad to say, I've only been to 5 NCAA College Football games my entire life (2 at Cal, 1 at SJ State and counting yesterday, 2 at Stanford) I've been watching College Football since '78, but I kinda fell in and out of it because just too much on my plate (MLB, NHL, NFL, NBA, etc.) I've always been a Stanford fan my entire life (don't worry Cal fans, I still have luv for ya too!) I still can't stand Elway for pissing, whining and not going to the Colts)
In the past, I've only been to Stanford Stadium once and I thought it was a good enough time to see the new re-constructed Stanford Stadium. It just FREAKIN' amazing! Definitely the best Football venue (including Candlestick and the Oakland Coliseum) in the Bay Area. I've been to Sunken Diamond many times and just like that, Stanford Stadium is done right.
I didn't give the Cardinal much chance against #8 Oregon. I was there to experience the atmosphere of the collegiate level, check out the new stadium and check out a major program like #8 Oregon. What I got was more than I bargained for!
-93 total points by both sides
-570 total offensive yards for Oregon. 505 total offensive yards for Stanford.
-Toby Gerhart ran for 223 yards and 3 TD's
-Jeremiah Masoli threw for 334 yards and 3 TD's.
-Andrew Luck threw 251 yards and 2 TD's.
Hard to believe Luck is only a Frosh. This guy has good poise in the pocket. It's almost Brady-esque. He's way above, Barkley, Locker and Riley. Only Foles comes close. Anyways, it was an experience of a lifetime and it wasn't like Oregon didn't show up or was a tomato can. Those guys would just quit! They had the game down to 6 with 2:23 left in the game, but fortunate that Stanford outscored 'em and recovered the onside kick to cause complete mayhem on the field and send all those freakin' Duck fans back to Oregon and miserable ride back on Cal Train.
still, they still lead the Pac 10.
Anyways, here's what I took. Sheesh! After that, I may never go back to an NFL game again.
