devilducky and I were going to adopt some kittens.

These kittens were really young and were going to be euthanized if no one took them. They were in a dilapidated building, in the basement. We walked down the hallway - the floor was dirt and there was water dripping from the ceiling. As we approached the room at the end, we could hear a woman screaming.

There was a monster living in this basement. He was tall and slender with a hidden face and gray skin and the people who lived in the building gave him animals and people to keep him occupied. The kittens were to be eaten if no one retrieved them.

We found him there, with the woman. He was raping her in the cardboard box he slept in. There was blood on her face. When we came in he stood up and watched us, his face in distorted shadow. We gathered up the kittens and the woman stumbled to her feet. She turned to look at us and we could see that her eye sockets were empty.

"Please," she sobbed, "ask him what he did with my eyes. Please. I just want to know what he did with my eyes!"

The monster turned to her, and in a rich baritone voice he replied, "I ate them."
