Ahhhh how the time creeps along. I've been a slacker bastard about updating. I just switched off the urge to chronical my life's little meanderings and just go gaming and try to do some reading and all that other jazz..... Ok well some of that other jazz was me being more enthusiastic about trying to spend some time with cute-busty-girl from work Naomi, but after a couple months of getting more comfortable around each other and chatting away through messenger and having lunch together at work, I actually decide that yeah I'm very attracted to her and really just need to man up and ask her out. Normally I wouldnt really pursue someone from work very aggressive..... well I never pursue anyone aggressively... I'm lucky if I have anyone pay enough attention to me for me to get friendly and go from there with it.... but especialy at work if I get involved with someone from work and it goes south then 20, 30, 40 hours of your week is spent with that same person who thinks you're a tool at best, and maybe a total dick by the time things are finished and damnit, I cant stand freaking drama at work so I just let it all build up till I know damn well any risks are worth it to me. And I do think she is worth the risks. We got to spend a little time together outside of work before, and I've met her kid that's actually a really good kid (always a good sign, since if the kid was a mess or a jerk that should send off screaming red neon lights of warning). I think the main thing was since I took a few months to really try much to call her and spend time with her she wrote me off as being interested in her and now she has to figure out what to do with me now that I'm still trying to get more personal with her. She mentioned she was bi earlier too, which is always a fun sign, but I know I cant compete against a nice pair of boobs. If she's started seeing someone new since we met up (and I'm pretty sure she was interested in me at that time) and its just a guy I'm feeling pretty good about how well I could compete if she's willing to let me have a chance. I tried giving her a call part way through her enforced vacation (she had to take a vacation while her parents who do her childcare went on a vacation) to see if she wanted to do something, and got a no answer the first time, and 2nd attempt the next day I just wound up leaving a message to try to set something up for saturday and never did get a call back and by the time I was talking to her at work again it was a bit more distant (and never mentioned my call) so I dont think I've been totally shut out yet, but not exactly a super encouraging development. She's usually very strong though and isnt too shy about telling people if she wants em to go away or what she thinks so we'll see. I was really looking forward to starting a relationship again too so gotta chill that out and reorganize. It was kinda weird getting my hopes up though since its been so long since I've been in a relationship I was still trying to figure out when I'd really be able to spend time with her on our schedules and what that would be like again....... Anyways, enough of my wanna-be love life. Onto bigger fare!
So after an apparently much improved interview, where I really didnt give them any more information than when they had rejected me a couple months ago for the job but apparently projected and presented myself a lot better, I got myself a new jobbie job . I'm now basically the help desk for the repair team I was working for previously. This job should work out a lot better for me. It'll let me stretch out my skills a lot more to cover everything and anything that pops up through the day and will let me interact with the more advanced departments that take care of bigger or crazier problems. And I wont need to work directly with customers more than prolly 10% of the day, instead of the 98% of the day I was doing before so I should be able to relax a bit more through the job. I got a token 3% raise outta it so I dont really call it a true promotion, but the work is actually a nice step up from where I was at in the food chain in my old position so its kinda a mixed promotion I suppose. Since I'm moving up a ways though it will open opportunities to move up to higher positions in the company though in pretty big ways after I've had a couple years of exp though so will be nice for that. The new schedule I'm on will also get me home in time to raid in EQ everyday (except for when I go to train of course) but I'll prolly miss our first hit or so due to the stupid amounts of traffic that turn a 15 minute drive into 45 mins. I'm gonna be taking a small pay cut here since I'm working an earlier shift i"m actually sacrificing the extra $1.50 an hour I was making working a shift that goes past 8pm, but between the 3% raise and my 4.5% annual raise I got that's kicking in around the same time its almost an even wash of it. So keeping all my evenings off and raiding and training and being home in time for UFC fights made up for the less money I'll be making vs what the later shift would have been.
I also got back from a live MMA fight tonight one of our local schools put on. It was a pretty packed fight card, with 14 non title fights and 2 title fights, including 1 girl vs girl kickboxing match that was brutally beatiful. About 6 of the fights were really good close fights, about 4ish fights were over really quickly or really lopsided, and the rest were respectable fights but one fighter or the other showed enough sloppy technique I couldnt help be critical of it. The really cool thing about tonight though, aside from the girls finally taking some respect and getting a fight for themselves finally, was Matt Hume one of the Pride Fighting producers was here to take the heavy weight title winner and let him know that they're taking him and the champions of 4 other organizations in the Northwest and having them fight in a little 4 man tournament, and then the winner of that one goes to fight the winners of 3 other 4 organization tournaments to Hawaii for a pro fight there and the winner of that one gets to go fight on a real Pride Fighting fight card. For anyone not in the know, Pride and UFC are the 2 biggest fighting organizations in the world for MMA and to have an opportunity like that etched in stone for you, from a local amateur fighting title is pretty amazing to see and a real validation of the training and work and just the caliber of fighters overall the schools here are putting out. LOL unfortunately the heavyweight title winner is only 250 cause he's still about 30 lbs over his prime weight... but holy hell did that guy have monstrous knockout power. He just blew that guy down in one shot once he got his opening.
I've prolly let my mind wander enough as is so hopefully this update will make up a smidge for my previous abscence.
