the presence of absence= a good start
the absence of loss= real freedom
I am selling my dads furniture. He died of cancer when I was 19 (I'm 29 now), and I've had a few of his stylish 60's mod chairs, speakers and tables since then. .It's time to move on. Not only do I not really like the furniture that much, but it's in my way. And I suspect it's holding me back to the past in some very real sense.
It's amazing what a posting on Craigslist will do, I get some cash and feel freed from my past!
Tuxy says don't burn bridges, but I think some bridges should not really be burnt, but allowed to fall down and not be rebuilt.
The Past is a Different Country, I Don't Live There Anymore!
