Now what I am about to say may upset my US friends and I mean no ill towards Americans in general I actually like the US but US Corporate bites the big one..
Ever since the company I work for was completely takern over by the large evil US conglomerate they seem to think they know how other Countries work and what works well in the US well must work well every where else sorry to say US Corporate losers it DOESN'T..
Yes before we were completely taken over the company I worked for was US owned, but they knew well enough that Canada has its own laws and rules and to allow us as a opco to run on our own and just report up to the US..
Now that we have been sold back in January 2007, the new US owners seem to think they know everything, it has killed what little moral the Canada company had, we have lost a lot of good people and more to come..
Now my boss has told me that I can only be manager of one department so without giving me a choice as she felt it was best served and less transition that I become soley Billing Manager..
Previously I had a choice of choosing between Order Entry/Sales Support, Billing and Accounts Receivable, now it is pressed upon me.. Currently I am Manager Order Entry and Billing, yes it will help as far as being more manageable and less stress for me, but with this whole re org, my Boss knows that her time is limited and will most likely be packaged and I will report directly to the US.. Not only that but Company Managers generally need at least 6 people reporting to them with this I may have 3 or 4 max. So where does that leave me am I too out the door..
There have been rumours that we will soon become just a Sales office well good luck US Corp Scum Bags you think you know Canadian Laws, Rules, Regulations not to mention Tax issues and that we are Bilingual well good luck to ya..
This blows and yea I am ranting, but like I said this is not directed to Americans just Corporate..

I hear ya! My company sold it's majority shares to an American business man and he's constantly trying to run the company like the one he has in the U.S. I'm constantly explaining that the demographic is completely different. It's been two years and we still have this conversation. All I can say is good luck my friend!
