Okay, so I'm a horror fan. I love watching scary movies, of most types. But there was a time period after the original Saw came out where the torture porn genre became a thing. I hate that kind of movie. Gore for gore's sake is unentertaining to me. And slasher films tend to bore me. I know, I know... two things a lot of horror fans swear by, and I don't like either one.
This being said, I had avoided watching Terrifier for quite some time. I had heard so many good things about it, but it sounded like it was not my kind of movie.
This Halloween, I finally watched Terrifier and Terrifier 2. And I finally understand the hype. They were such good movies that, despite being ultra gory slasher films (kind of...), I loved them both. Art the Clown is hands down the most charismatic killer I've seen in a movie, and he never says a fucking word. And the way they build up the final girl in part 2 is great. They really feel like adversaries by the end, not just killer and victim.
I was legitimately blown away by these movies. Have you seen them yet? What did you think about them?
