That was an interesting experience. So, a while back, I found out that Within Temptation was going to be having a concert 'in vr'. I'll admit, I'm a little reluctant to post this as I've gotten a surprising amount of crap for being a fan... but fuck it, I love this band. They're probably my favorite band at this point. So, I was excited to hear about the concert, and bought my ticket. Now, there was a delay, and it didn't happen until earlier today. But damn, that was really cool.
Okay, so it wasn't a full vr experience. It was a normal video. But watching it in my Oculus did make for a very immersive show. Hell, it was immersive enough that it triggered my anxiety (since before covid was a thing, I have been experiencing anxiety attacks in certain places: movie theaters, concert venues, etc). But despite that, it was really fun. And it provided me with the opportunity to see a band 'live' that I'll probably never have the chance to see in person. Hopefully more artists look into this medium, because it was a great way for someone with anxiety to still get the chance to see a concert.
