So today we discovered that the air conditioner was leaking into the house. It's 90-100 °F in this hell hole of a city, so having to turn off the air was the first shitty event of the day. Next, as I'm mopping up the mess, I put my hand on the light switch and it burned the crap out of my hand. It seems the water was leaking into the walls and was getting into the wiring. I put my ear close and could hear the buzzing of electricity and then I noticed smoke coming from the light switch. I immediately ran to get my brother and his kids to tell them they needed to leave and I made him call the fire department. I then ran upstairs and grabbed my cat, who was sitting peacefully on the bed. He freaked when I suddenly grabbed him and wouldn't let go. I took him to my car and sat there with him with the car's ac on full blast.
The poor little guy was freaking out the whole time. I have video of him meowing but I don't know how to upload it and I'm too lazy to find out right now.
Otherwis, crisis averted, the house never caught fire. We're good.
