This probably isn't going to make much sense to anyone except me, unless you've worked at the library, but I thought it was funny:
I have to deal with lots of creepy guys at work. Some of them are scary, some make me angry, and some are just annoying. Today, for some reason, every single nasty guy who comes in there regularly, was there, and I was doing LCU (Late Clean Up), which means I have to walk around the first floor and pick things up and put them away. So I'm alphabetizing magazines, and this young guy sitting at one of the tables is like
"Hey, bonita!"
So I ignore him and continue alphabetizing magazines.
"Hey, bonita! Hey, bonita!"
I keep ignoring him. So he goes over to this Hispanic guy.
"Hey, how do you say "pretty" in Spanish?"
And the guy says, "Preciosa"
So the first guy goes back to his table and continues to yell "Hey, bonita!" until he finally figured out that I was ignoring him.
This was just funny for two reasons, one, if I'm standing fifteen feet away from someone in a quiet room, and they're trying to get my attention, and I don't respond, obviously, I'm ignoring them. And two, apparently somehow even though I work at a library, I don't speak English! In fact, this guy seemed to think I don't understand basic human communication, since he couldn't comprehend that I was ignoring him. I thought it was funny.
And then besides that, Wade, the incredibly filthy (even for homeless people), insane guy who has a crush on me was in there. And apparently sometime when I was walking around he said something near me, for me to hear, since when I was walking by he was saying to some other guy how he had done that, except that I didn't hear him because I'm usually off in my own little world when I'm shelving, and if I had heard him, I would've reported him to someone and had him thrown out (apparently he thinks if he doesn't say anything directly to me, somehow he won't get thrown out), but I didn't hear him, and he didn't bother me besides that, so I didn't report him.
Sometimes working there can make me really angry because of all the nasty guys, and it just feels really threatening to have to walk around there with all these guys leering at me, and coming up to me and asking me stupid questions since they know if they hit on me, they'll get thrown out, but tonight it was just dumb. These guys act like they're twelve years old. Seriously, I could've been the supervisor for some middle school detention. It's just all these dumbass guys sitting at tables muttering to each other, think they're so cool and tough.

My computer is fixed. It cost $108, but it was worth it.
I need to go to the grocery store, dye my hair, clean my room, and clean the apartment, and do my homework.
I decided that I'm going to move to the Netherlands after I get my B.A. (I was going to move there anyway, but Bush's being re-elected just speeds that up a bit) So now I have to start looking into all the shit I have to do to move there: government paper work, passport, getting an apartment, finding out about graduate schools over there, getting a work permit so I can get a job, getting a job, finding out about health care, etc. Lots of work, but I should be be able to get it done in two and a half years.

crime is on the rise here at the moment, especially in the more urban western parts of the netherlands but these are tense times. (still doubt it's anything like america)
anyway amsterdam is one of the most expensive places to live, i suppose kinda like new york in america.
also housing prices are at a alltime high here if you intend to buy, i'm not sure how rental prices are. (i still live at home since my parents live about 10 minutes from school and the campus is a hour away)
also since we're having quite a bit of problems with immigrants our immigration laws are currently under review but i doubt they'd affect you much.
they're suggesting stuff like making it mandatory for people to learn basic skills in speaking dutch to avoid the masses of muslim immigrants we're getting with no intention of adapting.
anyway i'll try to look into some official websites for you, if you want to talk or something in the meantime my messenger stuff is under the contact tab on my profile.
as for prices in amsterdam i'd have to ask around, i just know that the west of the netherlands is the most expensive to live since it's the most metropolitan and amsterdam is probably the most expensive place in the netherlands.
