The entry I was typing up got deleted when my computer turned off, so I'll make this short (for once).
My computer keeps turning off/refusing to turn on. I cleaned the front of it because the buttons were sticking, but it's still doing this. I know it's not the fan, because that's new. Anyway, I don't have money to get it fixed.
I went to my friend Melanie's 21st birthday party on Saturday (her birthday was Sunday). It was all right, even though her boyfriend (who is my friend) is turning into a complete dick, and besides that he was being a bastard about everything in the apartment. Some of the stuff was normal rules, but a lot of it was "I'm a selfish prick and won't let anyone touch or use anything I own, and also, all of you are retarded and are going to break everything, so I'm going to treat you like you're three years old." I'll probably make a big entry about that stuff later. He really turned into a jerk.
I'm still sick from Thursday. I thought I was getting better but I got really sick last night. I didn't throw up or anything but I felt awful, and during the night I started to itch really bad and my hands swelled up and they're still a bit swollen and they still kind of hurt and they're numb. Right now I feel better, but I'm debating whether or not I should stay home in case I start to feel worse.
I have a ton of homework to do.
Neil and I saw Napoleon Dynamite yesterday. It wasn't very good. The acting was pretty bad, and it really didn't have a plot.
So now I better go do my homework before the computer turns off again.
Edit, five o'clock: I didn't do my homework, but I did go to my one class today. I called in for work though. I have a lot of homework and I don't think if I'm just starting to feel better than I should be pushing it by going to work and shelving books all night.
Why Melanie's boyfriend Anthony was being an asshole: He's a really bad host. Some of the stuff was logical: they live above their landlady, so we shouldn't be making tons of noise. But then there was the other stuff, like when we first get in there, he's like, "You guys are all dumbasses and are going to drop my cups, so you can't use them; we bought you plastic cups." Alexis did drop basically everything she was holding when she was drunk, but the rest of us didn't, andhe made it seem less like my place where I ask people not to use the glass cups because they could break, and more like he just didn't want us using his dishes. And then he wouldn't let anyone use his computer at all for anything, even though it's in the living room, and it's not like he works for the FBI or some shit and has top secret stuff on there. And then he wouldn't let Neil out on the porch since last time Neil threw up off the porch, even though Neil was obviously not very drunk. And Anthony kept bringing up like really controversial, debate-style topics, i.e. the kind of stuff you don't talk about at parties because it just turns into a giant argument and it's no fun. He was a total nazi about a lot of stuff, too, just with the apartment, where everything is like "don't touch this" "don't touch that" and he was just really selfish and wouldn't let anyone sit in his computer chair or use his computer (his computer is a piece of crap, too), and he just made a bunch of stupid rules. Basically he was just a jerk about a lot of stuff and a bad host and he really went out of his way to make everyone feel as unwelcome as possible.
Not that everyone had such a bad time, but Anthony is just a really, really bad host. And it's not like Melanie has parties all the time. This was her birthday. And then he just would say really mean stuff about her to us, basically stuff you wouldn't say about someone you were dating, or even your friends. It was more stuff you would say about someone you don't like, and saying stuff like that to your girlfriend's friends is stupid. He's not that bad if he comes to a party here, but he a terrible host and he really treats Melanie like shit. I'm hoping she'll dump him soon (their lease must expire sometime soon; I can't see that she would possibly renew it when things were already going terribly).
--------------
Anyway, one good thing: I went to Mifflin Street Co-op and got a really good sandwich (three cheese, tomato, onions, lettuce, and pesto on wheat), and one of those Naked Food strawberry-banana smoothies, and then I came home and watched Arthur and ate my good food. Plus, I'm still hungry, so that means my appetite is back, which means I must be feeling better, and my fingers aren't numb anymore either. And I did all my laundry this weekend so now everything's clean and all I have to worry about is getting my homework done and getting ready for the Halloween party. I'll probably post an entry about that sometime soon.
