Been a while since I put anything up here.... Not a whole lot to say I guess. Been a hectic past few weeks. Training at a new position, rehearsing for our show in Phoenix next month, finding a new meeting site for my AA group... etc. Now it seems that I may have new songs to learn..Yay!
BTW, are you familiar with Jonathan Richmond & The Modern Lovers? They have a great regional song, although slightly more South Shore than North, called "Roadrunner" that rocks.
Mid December could see me heading to the City for a howdy. I live about 75 miles north, which can be anything from 1.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on traffic. Please let me know dates when you've got them.
Ok then..... So, after last night's little rant I have an update on Lisa. The Dr. called her today with the results from the lymph node samples. NO CANCER!
This means no extra chemo, no radiation and a LOT less worrying about 'what's next'. I don't drink anymore but if I did; it sure as hell would be Miller Time right about now.

Wow. She is amazing huh? You are too, really. I am sure this battle will be hard but she will win in the end, her attitude will make sure she does. She has been through so much. Cancer is horrible. It's such a terrible disease and it has impacted so many people I know, including myself.
Hey! I am a co captain for the Relay for Life this year where I live. We will be raising money and walking 12 hours over night to raise money to fight Cancer. It such a great fund raiser. I walked it last year and I am very much looking forward to doing it again this summer. Last year my team was one of the top ten for raising money. I plan to top it this year!!! You should see if there is one near you so you can walk in her honor!
So.... this is the day. In 9 short hours, my girlfriend is going into the hospital to have both of her breasts removed.
There, I've said it... it's out there. It doesn't make it any less surreal though. It's not as if I didn't know this was going to happen; I've known about it for months, but ... still.
So apparently, I have a Fairy SG. An anonymous benefactor graced me with a 3 month membership. Since I really have NO idea who it was, I will thank you all, and I hope that I repay your kindness somehow.

He sent me a txt earlier that day.. before all the drinking and such. He was concerned for ME and didnt tell me that anything was wrong. He only said that he was in the hospital because of a collapsed lung from a burning garage. That he was on the roof txting me to check on me. He did that often so I didnt think much of it, other than the fact hat I was worried about his lung. The last thing he said to me was he hoped I got better, and that he was gonna go back to his room and lay down, that he was tired.
I missed the Geezer group message because I was just out of the hospital.
And this I dont think would start drama...and anyone that does can go to hell.
