But - seriously! - this year has been flying by ! ...too fast, honestly
s'been awhile since I last posted, but I've been keeping good and busy !
I know I'll forget a few things that occurred in the interim, but that's ok
I even got a helluva lot of walking in lately - particularly this last Saturday ( over 11miles ! )
I hit the Three Ponds Park, then the Eagle Lake Park ... then, I admit, I got a little lost headed back...
so what should've been just 8miles ended up over 11 in 4hrs+40mins :D
( I wasn't actually lost that long - I realized after 10mins I'd gone the wrong direction and re-positioned my direction back )
my PD Reserve training is complete ! - just waiting on the Dr approval... *sighs*
!! Oi! what a challenge this health bullshit is !!
every time I see someone he sends me to see, he sends me to another to go over the results, etc
... don't Dr's talk to each other ? ( seriously, I've been out of the health thing for 33yrs, this just seems so friggin' weird! )
even though I still have one more ( and hopefully only one more! ) appointment to set up before I'm given the approval, they've already set up my first patrol in July...
I swear I hope the Dr doesn't keep playing this game >:(
( doesn't help either that each appt adds more and more to my debt :( )
ANYways, otherwise work is steady and constant, I've been keeping quite busy ( and am a little behind, admittedly )
Lodge and related bodies keep me steady - I've been working to get the Lodge cleaned up as well, since it doesn't appear anyone else has been jumping in on it
and the aforementioned annual Grand York this week :)
So, yeah - maybe I'll even get one more posting in before I'm no longer 50 ;)

4/17 : A financial advisor for those over 50 on TV this morning actually said 'deposit 6$ a week into savings and you'll have over 2000$ by the end of the year' !... uhm, that's not how math works, lady, not even close ! people listen to this ? no wonder there's financial instability !
4/23 : Colour me confused : disapproving of obama & biden makes one a 'racist nazi,' but supporting the terrorist attack of a music festival and waving 'death to jews' flags does not ?!?
4/27 : at least as a state Minnesota can be proud at truly being #1 ! ... it may be in opioid addiction/deaths (as well as top 5 in other drug addiction/deaths), questionable public educational teaching, *and* "democratic socialists" in the democratic party ! uhm... great job, MN ? :(
4/30 : so sometime in the next month or so, I need to get set up with a general checkup before I complete my cadet training ... time to send out a few e'mails to nearby places and see what can be done !
... got an appt set up in a couple weeks - not cheap, but still cheaper than having "insurance" by any means
5/14 : Yes, kids, the rumourmill is true, tomorrow I will be having my 1st general examination since HS ( 33yrs )
edit : yes, this is a *very* spendy visit - worth a half-month's rent! but still far cheaper than having "insurance" would be
5/15 : So, of course, I gotta do a follow-up for bloodwork w/ pre-fasting & set up an echo... should've known/expected
They weren't entirely happy w/ [150/92] *but* I did think they should keep in mind I *did* walk a 1/2hr to get there just 5mins before it was tested... plus nervousness about even being *in* a Dr's office for 1st time in 33yrs...
5/20 : 'yay, fasting-for-bloodwork' day... gonna be a long workday, though technically I'll be leaving a little early for the apt ... :(
5/23 : sorry to disappoint those who were 'absolutely certain' I'm diabetic due to my eating habits, one of the bloodwork tests results is complete : I'm not :)
5/24 : While I still need to continue testing my BP daily & set up an 'echo,' the results are in from the testing barrage & I'm *drum roll please* surprisingly(?) Healthy! w/ slightly elevated cholesterol in one regard & needing no meds or further evaluation beyond the aforementioned
5/30 : dreamage :: working in a co-ed prison, training farm-dragons while not-so-secretly teaching them to hunt & kill squirrels
6/12 : 1 1/2hr to appt, 1hr prep, ~2hr echo, then 1 1/2hr back home... that's half a workday, so - yeah - I think I *will* be taking all of tomorrow off :)
6/25 : ...and that's a wrap for my June workdays, not returning until July 1st
