s'been a helluva weird, wild wintertide - at near record snow, temps far below the average, and assorted other local, national, and worldwide issues
while I haven't made it to Lodge, York Rite, nor Shrine as often as desired this wintertide, I've still tried to keep on and up with things
in April is the yearly Grand Lodge Communication - in May the Spring Ceremonial for Shriners - in June the Grand York Rite Session
I've got my aforementioned vaca set as well, corresponding to some of the above and otherwise just using up time where it 'works'
Th-Fr Apr 13-14th (Grand Lodge), Mo-Fr May 15-19th, We-Fr Jun 21-23rd (Grand York), Th-Tu Jul 6-11th (50th something-something), & Mo-Fr Aug 14-18th
that'll use up my remaining vaca time until it resets late Sept and I then I'll need to plot out 2024 vaca calendar
no, no travel plans beyond Waite Park for the Grand Lodge & Alexandria for the Grand York...
having only a DC now and not a CC make doing some of my vaca planning awkward or nigh impossible - saving far in advance plus some rental places not taking DC without a huge lock on the funds
nonetheless, once weather gets warmer I need to get my butt in gear and get more active... this wintertide has been killer
work had been very busy with new computer system and needs, keeping my attention focused there and add'tl hours to cover the need
city has been absolutely awful with sidewalks and clearing, making getting anywhere a chore and a half beyond the block to work
...and even that block to work I've had to walk on the street half this demn wintertide due to lack of walkable sidewalk !
weather - well, yeah, we covered that ;)
ANYways, I could rant and rave and be reactive as most of the state and nation seem to be...
BUT... I'd focus on the good things, on what can be resolved and made to work, on a future we plan for with research and thoughtfulness
you won't catch me rioting or thieving or going with shitty solutions based on mob mentality - sorry to disappoint ;)
