arts & independence, monuments & the metro, eclectic & american, politics & pedestrians...
from the many neighbourhoods of the District itself to Alexandria & Arlington...
with a few visits to Lodges in DC & Virginia, and a multitude of possibilities & multiple locales to take in

this visit was one initially planned & planted more than a few years ago with my fathre...
it would've been our first trip that was us & us alone - so, aye, this is a 'bucket list' vaca of mine own but also in honour of what could've been & will never be...
aye, he'll be with me, in a way, depending on what you personally believe ( or how you wish to 'read' into it )
I always travel alone - always have, probably always will... roadtrips & flights, such as this, alike
doesn't mean it wouldn't have been intriguing to spend a couple weeks with my fathre there - him a return, mine a first
don't think I'm not looking forward to this - by gods! I certainly *AM* :D
I didn't travel last year so - Helsyeh! - DC, baby, I'm almost on my way !!
ANYways, I should begin packing & prepping... my Lovelies & Gentlefolk, just a couple days away from 2 weeks the farthest East I'll have ever been :)

no surprise that I loved Phantom Tollbooth and Something Wicked This Way Comes as a child, honestly - it makes sense
5/3 : These are those days where it's not warm, but "nice" enough where you can hit the ol' watering hole for some nice convo, have a convo or two with some oldschool bikers en route back home, & see some neighbour children out-and-about & ask 'em how their folks are doing :) nice :)
