I still have 3 vaca days to use by September - how in the world am I gonna utilize them ?! *sighs*
But - moving on... ;)
great neighbours downstairs invited me to join them the evening of the 3rd ... hanging out with their fam & friends was wonderful !!
it's great to know there are good people to know in this state still, and they are absolutely wonderful people to know :)
the vacation was AMAZING, so many beautiful places & amazing people !
** I posted several pics over the time on my insta & fb, they're there if you want to see some of the absolutely gorgeous area !! **
3,674 miles over 10 days & 10hrs - ranging from MN to SD to WY to UT to WY ( via passing through CO ) to SD & then home again :D
was completely spoiled by my sister-from-another-bloodline in UT, finally meeting her husband & re-meeting her daughters *laughs*
miss them all - such great people !
talked to several bikers over the span, too, which was very cool ( gods, do I miss riding! )
gave me several ideas, though - like trike or spyder, since my equilibrium is far too messed up to ride your normal 'cycle :(
primarily the main thing that every-so-often ran through my head was : "why in the 7 hells am I (still) in Minnesota...?"
( though no way I'd move to Colorado unless they substantially change ... thank the gods when I entered the Nat'l Forest & away from the inanity *shivers*
I'm worried about you, Colorado - if you want to get people to enjoy your state, you've got a lot of changes to do regarding your people & pets )
returning, sadly, that thought was exacerbated, as instead of returning to things getting better, they'd gotten far, far worse *deep sigh*
within 48hrs of returning, was sitting on my deck & heard gunshots... I had hoped it was my imagination
but, NOPE, that am on the news, just down the road 3 people were shot - in the same location someone had been shot roughly 24hrs prior :(
Minnesota's been on a noticable decline since mid/late '00s, probably before but noticable at that point
but June became a total meltdown for the state, closed businesses everywhere w/ wood over their windows/doors, violent crimes daily...
nowhere feels entirely safe, even in a 'burb where there were little-to-no-issues prior except the rare few criminal jackholes
I could & would go on, but it's become one of those dividing issues that causes more hate than good
obviously saddening one can't even have a conversation about it without hate being spewed or being tagged/labeled simply for disagreement with a point or two
>:(
nonetheless, getting the 7 hells out of Minnesota is looking far closer to a near-future thing
this state is getting absurd & dangerous & all-out-ignorant right-fast :(
and I'm talking beyond Minnesota's Passive-Aggressive mentality, it's as if 'Criminals Are A-OK!' is the new state motto >:(
ANYways... we'll post again post-b'day, my Lovelies & Gentlefolk ! :)

a lot of twittage ::
6/7 (7:45p) : 95% packed, charging a few things, & knowing this time tomorrow I should be over 500 miles west of here on the first 'leg' of this We-SoWe Roadtrip has me energetic & excited... need to relax so I can sleep soundly tonight & be ready for tomorrow's drive :)
6/19 : I figured rain-be-damned while I had the rental I'd pick up a couple bookshelves, but *sighs* the only thing the upscale-Targét carries are these metal-wood amalgams that, when I asked a worker about it, says they're the same ones on the shelves from when they re-vamped :( ...
disappointed, this means not only can I not get clothes there ( the quality & feeling of what they now carry are shit :( ), but the only thing upscale-Targét IS good for is a couple movies & CDs once in awhile or random groceries *deep sigh* and I can get those elsewhere/online
so, no, I wasn't going to pay nearly 100$ more for a bookshelf I didn't like, couldn't even lift ( the metal? the ones I have I could carry like I was 'wielding' a guitar ), was 2 inches shorter & 2 inches less wide than ones I have, & didn't look like it could hold dvd/blu-ray
6/26 : "fuck the police!" "defund the police!" "get the police off the streets!"
[75% increase in car theft, violent crime, & shootings since June 5th, largely including teens]
"someone needs to do something about this & get these kids off the street"
...you mean - like the police ?
7/1 : "everyone deserves their moment in the sun"
when do we start launching people there ? it is too late to volunteer someone(s) for the list ?
7/3 : 'New World Disorder' ... almost home from gorgeous & warm late morning walk, all good except :
* being yelled at in spanish by customer in target who kept pointing at her face
* woman angry for my "ignoring her" as I walked by - THEN going off on a rant as I walked away saying "no" to giving $$ to BLM
* having a can thrown at me by a passing car ( "this ain't fucking fargo, jackholes!" )
7/3 II : very cool evening with the downstairs neighbours & their fam/friends - it's good to know good people ... 'course, now it's time to crash, since I know I'll be up again right early as always :) ... already invited to the next time they gather ( maybe tomorrow ) :D
