aye, we have a couple of warm(ish) days in the near horizon, but the likelihood of getting temps where the low is above 50 is overall questionable 'til April or May :(
*snifs*
poor me, I know (heh)
ANYways...
for the helluvit I took a sneak-peak at next year to do a little mental pondering
no, my vaca hours haven't reset (yet), but will be soon... then I know what I'll be working on for next year :)
assuming I'll have at least 3 weeks, but *shrugs*
either way, looking ahead - since I only vaca 'tween April & August, the peering was kinda *eep* !!
there really aren't a lot of weeks that are workable next year for vaca :o
beginning of month & end of month don't work well - a'tall - workwise, so that cuts the time somewhat
and a big chunk of open time that includes weekends tend, next year, to fall at the beginning & end *Oi!*
so it looks like the best possibilities for vaca - where I could actually, potentially do something fall into three dates, roughly...
2020 ::
Apr 18th (Sat) through 24th (Fri)
- which, if it's anything like the past couple years, will include a post-wintertide addt'l snowfall :( *shivers*
May 16th (Sat) through 22nd (Fri)
- decent time, though I'm certain t'get a little shit for it taking a week off just a month after the prior week *laughs*
Jun 13th (Sat) through 19th (Fri)
- potentially 8th (Mon) through 19th (Fri), if I push things just a little bit...
this latter would be the best if I actually wanted to go somewhere & not be in a rush t'get back
so, yeh, kinda limited, it seems *sighs*
July & August are so tight with everything going on that I could only do 'extended weekends' at best, which... meh, no t'anks *bleh*
money is also likely to be pretty tight, but I could always do a li'l something I was offhandly thinking about last year...
a trip around the Great Lakes !
...which the June extended dates would be really cool for, actually
from doin' a little this-n'-that, could do it in 5 days - but pretty much constantly driving
hence doin' an 8th - 19th would be a nice 2-weeks t'take it easy, make stops where things look intriguing or I feel like stayin' a night or two :)
again - just ideas at this point runnin' over-and-through the brain... :D
ANY suggestions for a Great Lakes drive-'round would be VERY welcome ... and demn cool...!
to my Canadian friends & acquaintances - Suggestions, please! you'd know better than I would :)
images below is what I roughly pondered, usin' random stops - and avoiding duluth like the plague ( sorry, have had zero good experiences there - it's a city of bastards... thankfully north of duluth is cool AND beautiful! )
[home] to [Thunder Bay] to [Batchawana Bay] to [Niagara Falls] to [Mackinaw City] to [Escanaba] to [home again]
Thunder Bay is where one side of my mothre's line stems from, so figure a stop there is intriguing...
this takes me across the upper coast of Superior & Huron, 'tween Ontario & Erie at Niagara, back below Huron to the northern Michigan coast, & then on home
...avoids most of the bigger cities this way as well, which are a bitch t'see anything on a random basis, honestly :)
ANYways - that's pretty much all I've got for this particular posting *shrugs*
what? I'm a pretty boring individual, I've tried t'warn ya before !! ;)
twittage ::
9/8 : *gags* why am I seeing ads for tacohell - nothing I would ever eat there :p ...or chick-filla - religio-bigoted restaurant, no thanks >:( ...or f'n subway - even the smell there makes me gag & nearly v-word in its proximity *shivers/gags* - the hell do these ads stem from ...??
9/12 : WHY would someone think the best thing to do when their baby is crying would be to go up a floor & set it in a bassinet in front of someone's (mine!) door & then sit kitty-corner with headphones in so they can't hear it cry ?!? ...and THEN get PO'd when I tell them to move! >:(
9/19 : been slightly out of sorts - very sick Tues am & slowly getting better... slept around 27hrs since Tues am - not quite 100% yet & I'll 'catch up' when I do... 'til then, I'm gonna eat & relax & likely sleep 'til tomorrow workday rolls 'round again
9/20 : Will be going out post-work w/ a few co-workers (& ex-co-workers) ... maybe a bit o'whiskey'll finish off the remaining throat scratchiness & random coughing *shrugs*
9/20 II : Good afternoon/early eve "night out" - the die-hards got a bit angry that I snuck & paid off the remaining tabs *shrugs* ...& that poor uber driver taking them further on for the night *laughs*
9/21 : am I the only one who finds is well-timed humour that Fall Prevention Week begins on the 1st day of Fall ? ...that can't be a timing coincidence, can it ? as long as it keeps temps above 50, I'm all for it !! :)
9/22 : woke up coughing & throat feeling sore again... just after I thought this was almost done :( ...took a lavender epsom bath, which is temporarily appeasing... *crossing fingers* enough already *sighs*
9/22 II : to kids in the hallway : "you shouldn't play in the hallways"
'but whyyy...'
"for one thing, it's one of the rules here, for another it disturbs some neighbours"
kid to other : 'my mom said we're too loud inside - where CAN we go & still hear the baby?'
seriously ?!? :o >:(
