while it's quite rare that I'm 'spot on,' sometimes I do have my moments where something I did or said was nigh perfectly timed/acted :)
* the liquor store incident *
living '93/'94 in the 'Bachelor's Trailer' in Roseau, drinking was unquestionable... and kinda/sorta expected
I was asked to pick more up, but my car was unavailable for some reason, so I was handed the keys to one of the housemate's car...
pull up to the liquor store and...
guy walking out: "Nice car"
me : "Nice tie"
guy : "I'm not wearing a tie"
me : and I'm not wearing a car"
...the dude just stood there, unspeaking & unmoving, so I went inside...
after buying a LOT of alcohol, popped out with assistance for carrying - and the dude was STILL there!...
I can only assume I 'broke' him, as he didn't move/speak even after I loaded up & drove off
( I do wonder whatever happened to that guy - whether he moved from that spot of his own accord... or had to be moved )
* the random kiss in the BSU tunnels *
'92, returned to BSU after my 1st failed attempt at college to party w/ some people that hadn't dropped out...
the 'Brrmidji' campus had a tunnel system between buildings, for use during the cold season but utilized college-year-round...
drunk off our asses, me & a friend were headin' down the tunnels & a couple sweet-li'l collegiates headed towards us...
on a sudden whim as they passed ( tunnels weren't very side ), I swept up and deep-kissed one of the lovelies...
as sudden as the kiss, I broke off & continued on - my friend's eyes grown **HUGE** at my actions...
further on, knowing they'd still be visible ( before the tunnel curved ), we peeked back...
and she was still up against the wall, having not moved since the sudden kiss...
her friend now sitting the tunnel floor near her, laughing ( at least it sounded like laughter echoing down the tunnel )...
( admittedly, I probably gave her 'contact-buzz' since at this point I'd been drinking pretty much non-stop for 3 or more days )
* the 'crutches incident' *
'91, during my 1st attempt at college, drinking & hungry as hell, so a few of us went to get a bite to eat...
I bought my food elsewhere, since they wanted to eat at Taco Hell, & we sat and ate, until...
a li'l lovely on crutches came in ( we sat a few booths down from the main entrance ) and, drunkenly ( obviously? )...
me : "a babe on a stick! ( probably too loudly *smirks* )
lovely turns & approaches, thwapping me upside the head with a crutch - then the friends as well...
me : MEAN babe on a stick!
a swift turn-around for another thwap - with my friends protesting that they didn't deserve it...
before I could say another thing, I had a piece of my food shoved in my mouth and a hand over that *laughs*...
( I can't say I didn't deserve it - but I can't say it wasn't funny as hell, either - and you know it! )
...they're unquestionably Favourite Moments in Life - there are more, but these immediately come to mind & stand out, still making me laugh in remembrance :)
Part thE secONd : WWEMD(FAKB) [aka What Would Ethel Merman Do (For A Klondike Bar)]
...for some reason EM popped into my head today - and, I admit, isn't the 1st time I'd brought up EM randomly at work - to the confusion of co-workers who have no idea what I'm babbling on about...
not that they're surprised, mind you - they're semi-used to my randomness ;)
...and, no, it's not the 1st time in my life that EM has popping into conversations randomly - well, only when I'm involved, I suppose
I just find the name 'Ethel Merman' a funny name that I just get a kick out of saying no matter the situation...
such as :
WWEMD : What Would Ethel Merman Do ... or WWEMD(FAKD) : ...(For A Klondike Bar)
or :
"I find your lack of Ethel Merman merchandise disturbing"
"...I suppose Hot Topic shouldn't have been expected to be Ethel Merman-positive"
( weirdly enough, one of the times this did come up with someone who's used to my weirdness - at a Hot Topic, no less! - one of the workers responded with "that IS saddening"
which led to a LOT of laughter :D )
and an assortment of other EM-associated or -related weirdness... and it's not that I'm really a fan, either, having seen/heard very little of her actual work :(
well :
"I don't know what YOU might think, but Ethel Merman's no Carole Lombard... or Jimmy Durante, for that matter!"
ANYways... that's all I've got - weather's demn nice ( finally! ), but just not feelin' any more random walking today
( cash-tight currently, so no stops while walking - which is a bitch when one gets thirsty while walking... and is nowhere near home *sighs* )
twittage ::
6/2 : just moments ago on a 'political roundtable' : "Hillary knows politics and how to get rid of opponents" ... the sudden raised eyebrow of one of the 'roundtable' people hit exactly what I was thinking, I'm sure *smirks* - hilarious how particular wording ends up perfectly worded
6/3 : the neighbour broken into is moving out - he's month-to-month & they're letting him forgo the 60days... he's already packed up most of what wasn't taken ( don't know what other than he said "they got a lot" :( ) ... too bad, he was a decent neighbour, too - unlike some I've had
6/6 : someone (tried) to go off on me because my flag-with-the-blue-line hat associated... to them... with the president, suppose it's a fair assumption since prior-POSOTUS 'N0bama' was anti-PD in actions & words... side note: still don't mind some neighbours still think I'm a cop :D
