today's not-quite-a-headache hasn't quite let go... not just the usual weather-induced headache, but certain factors of the day likely added to it ( and perhaps the exhaustion I feel )...
in particular :
walking along the building today to work there was an awful smell, which increased substantially once I was past the front office and into the warehouse where my office, luckily dwells
a nasty, nasty rotten-egg-and-then-some odor that lasted the entire day, eliminating any hunger and even thirst that would normally arise
the gag-worthy stench ended up being because a neighbour in the building had bathrooms they hadn't been using and the water evaporated, leaving a direct open line for the sewer gas
*ugh*
leaving I'd finally thought myself freed of gas for the day - but, no... I came home to the strong smell of gas *sighs*
calling the complex office, they let me stay in the party room until they'd figured out the problem
namely, they were working on gas today and it seems I have a different kind of pilot on my stove than the other apartments, so didn't ignite properly
*deep sigh*
ANYways, technically both issues were resolved ( and currently there is no gas smell in my apartment ), but coupled with the weather-induced headache this has made my brain less than happy for the day
it's a headache, I suppose, but an odd sort of one where it's not extremely painful but just won't... let... go...
aye, this is a likely factor in my feeling of exhaustion - along with a quite busy workweek... the usual for the first week of the month
- and next week will be just as busy, if not moreso... a lot going on, a lot more that needs to occur - including being partial support for a co-worker on vacation for a week+
and support for the others partially supporting her *laugh*
yes - it is that weird of a situation, but not unexpected...
it's made hilarious by the fact that people that should be taking on part of my workload have yet to
- and the workload I'm expected to take on in replacement of removed workload those people are more an antsy to put onto my plate already
a perfect storm, essentially, of timing and need...
I don't mind being busy, not at all, but I do mind when expectation goes beyond capability
particularly when everything is given urgency but no clear priority - since it's from multiple parties, each wants theirs prioritized... an impossible task, to say the least
so... in simplest fashion, I took things in order I received them - which put my own workload on the backburner a bit
( which the GM teased me a bit when I left for the day - but he did mean it in jest, understanding completely my accumulated workload and what people are pushing onto my docket )
** thank the gods for that! **
hells, I was on OT - unsurprisingly - not long after the morning meeting
if I didn't have the approval for that - which some do not - I'd be much further behind than I am
interestingly, it was brought up during the morning meeting ( in conjunction to my workload "issues" ) that they begin watching/monitoring progress and "production"
I already know I'm 'in the clear,' so to speak, in that measure - the GM is trying to lessen my workload so I can take on what is absolutely necessary if we want to continue success as a business
and he's even mentioned, in the rare aside, that I do have the option to take more breaks than I do and is well aware that the "moments" I do take are far less than others ( implying I'm safe to do so more often, should I choose )
of course, my not taking a lunch or scheduled breaks are by MY choice, not work requested or required, and I'm one of the few that do
which I'm thankful is allowed, actually... some departments have no choice, like warehouse staff
ANYways, I'm barely keeping myself awake typing this, so as soon as I type these last little bits, I'm gonna get m'self comfy 'pon the couch and likely crash 'til mornin'
I can prepare for my 36hrs with my lovely spawnlings in the AM *grins*
Farethee well for now, my lovelies and gentlefolk... and half a great weekend - the other half's mine :)

mm-kay, then - telling someone to "calm down, twiddletits" is 'offensive' ... it's not as if I was intending to actually twiddle her tits...

"Colonel Mustard in the S&M Room with a Tailpipe" may not have been the proper response to "What's your guess?" but at least it WAS a guess
