somehow, as mentioned in the last of the twits that will follow as usual, even with N0bamacare's Uninsured Bullshit Fee and the raise I got last year, I qualified for something I hadn't before and am getting more of a refund than last year
HOW I qualified for something I hadn't since the divorce, I have no idea - a change in the laws I wasn't aware of? usually any changes to tax laws end up being a hindrance to me, not an advantage
and getting more back is the REAL shock - though it would've been substantially more if it wasn't for the idiocy that is the N0bamacare Uninsured Bullshit Fee, once again a fine PER month PLUS being taxed
...gotta love how they tax what they're removing from your taxes for their completely and utterly bullshit purposes //sarcasm//
the vacation was decent and enjoyable - went by fast!
sadly, it'll probably be THE vacation for the year - even with getting taxes back, s'gonna be a bitch t'figure out how to use the two weeks vaca I have to use before September
we were on the Colorado River, mostly in Laughlin, NV but partially in Bullhead City, AZ (where we landed)
took a couple trips, including to a portion of Route 66 around Oatman, AZ where there were wild burros AND a trip into Grapevine Canyon/Xmas Tree Pass near Spirit Mountain (Nevada) where there were some wonderful petroglyphs (am I using the write term there?)
either way, there was beauty everwhere - including a bit in the Riverside where we stayed ;)
love the weather and the mountains/canyons and the river and... ok, s'just very cool area *grins happily*
didn't finish all the goals for the month work-wise, and February is going to be busy as the 7 hells, but all is good
I've got the support of the GM, who knows that I'm not sluffing off and am doing my best *whew*
kinda weird sometimes knowing I've been with this company for so long - I love it, but it's just so... strange
who'd have thought??
on a side note, seeing people that I haven't seen in many, many years on and during the trip, I couldn't help but smirk at their "shock" at "how much [I've] changed"
first off... DUH - I'm in my 40s, divorced with two kids, and live a pretty stagnant life
*shrugs* I'm not complaining, mind you - I love my life, my spawnlings, my job, and where my oft-weird life has led me
but yeah, I've bloody changed...
I've gained 70lbs since most have seen me, I wasn't grey when most had seen me and I've got a lot of that now (particularly in the facial hair)...
do they really expect the world to stand still?
aye, I'd stayed pretty much the same into my early '30s, I admit - except for hair length and amount of scruffiness - but I suppose that's a bit of an anomaly, neh?
ANYways - now that the shock of the taxation results is fading, I'm still considering takin' a walk... but I'll likely just continue my laziness, do some laundry since it'll be closed next week for repairs, and watch more horreur flicks

the deadly Mansquito virus has been traced by pseudoscientists to 'Fred,' a mosquito who bit a vaccinated person who ingested aspartame...

when I bend over and accidentally show cleavage I never get that nod-wink-smile people talk about - and the gagging sounds are unnecessary
1/30 :
birds keep swooping on and off my deck and chirping like mad at each other - bird fight in the works ?
fuzzbutt's back! and hoo-boy, was he PISSED at those other two birds - chased 'em right the hell off "his" deck!
1/30 II :
did you say it's for animal welfare or warfare? 'course, I don't believe we should be supporting non-working animals, let alone arming them
1/31 :
*sighs* alright, alright - I've held off most of the weekend, but said I'd do it so I'm gonna do it... let's see how bad N0bama screwed me
*odd* even with the N0bamacare Uninsured Bullshit Fee and a raise, I qualified for something I hadn't before and am getting a refund *wow*
