Basic Human... Idiocy : The 39 Week 50 Round Up/Update +1 [T39W50RU/U +1]
ah, humans - oftimes humerous, usually pitiful, and almost always absurdly... well... dumb@$$es, in general
now that I got that out, here's some examples from yesterday (as I spent most of the day off wandering around the area) ::
1)
I walked to the local Cinema Grill (which has just opened a bar next door!) and saw Iron Man 3, which rocked, btw!
after the film I encountered this :
"this film was too violent, sexual, and had too much swearing for my child!"
after nothing that said child was VERY pre-teen, I couldn't help but reply "that's probably why they rated it PG-13, dumb@$$"
from her expression - and the sudden smile on the employee's face - I knew I hit the right note, as out of place as it may have been.
seriously, people... if you don't understand the ratings or don't have the time to look it up or research it, then DON'T GO...
and DEFINITELY DON'T BITCH ABOUT IT if it's not what you expected *coughs*dumb@$$es*coughs*
2)
the construction in the area is intense and there are literally one lane roads in portions and intersections completely closed off
a block from one of the closed intersections, a man in a truck called out to me :
"hey, can you see if they'll let me through"
with dramatic flair I looked to the intersection, then back to the guy, "through that hole where the intersection used to be? I doubt it!"
I then continued walking without looking/waiting for his response...
and I wasn't kidding, either - said intersection is nothing but a deep hole now, spreading a block or so each roadway!
humerously, I probably could've set a chair up and just counted how many cars ignored the "Closed" and "Detour" signs and witness them do a U-turn with a frustrated look
seriously, people - the f'n signs are EVERYwhere, telling you the road is CLOSED and which detour to take... you think they're KIDDING?!?
3)
in my wanderings, I took 'breaks" into different stores to cool off...
well, some stores, anyways - a late night/early morning store knocked the power out in many of these stores
one particular store had a two-Post-It wide "sign" stating :
Power Out. We Can't Help You - Oi! I wish my camera still had power at that point, it was SO picture worthy!
of course, in another store a member of the religious reich was out in full-force in the game section on a tirade no one was listening to :
"...how dare they have [g-d] in the title when it's not the one true [g-d]..."
"...they need a disclaimer that these [g-d]s are not the real [g-d]..."
and a multitude more of these utterly absurd ramblings, coupled with whirlwind gestures
no, I didn't respond... though I was sorely tempted - as the store staff was ignoring the person, I chose to do the same
though I admit I waited for a bit to see if security or PD were showing up shortly
...honestly, I hope they did - this kind of nutball needs to be taken off the streets and instituionalized
*sighs*
we had another major storm hit last night, shortly after I got home (perfect timing?)...
so I can imagine how the construction zone coupled with the power outages are today - Oi!
ANYways... enjoy your weekend - and, for your own personal safety and the mental health of others, DON'T BE THESE PEOPLE!
