Ok...ok...so I'm a little late with the whole weekly update thing....I think. Anyway...here goes.
Well, this past 'week' has been pretty bland. No burlesque shows or hot concerts. Just work and sleep. Well, there was a little more mixed in then I'm letting on.
As we all know, Valentines Day came and went, and for most of us, it wasn't a big event. Just like the last 2 years, I was left without a valentine...so I went on a quest to find one. With roses in hand, I hit the one place I knew wouldn't let me down. TGIFridays....where else? Megan, who is my favorite of all the bartenders there, just happened to be working. And thank god. I'd look like an ass at the bar with 10 roses and no one to give them to. Megan got a rose, and in return, I got a kiss. Wooo hoo! It's not much, but hey, I'm not complaining. I've been dubbed her favorite, and that works just fine for me.
This past weekend (I told you my week was bland), I ended up heading out to...you guessed it....Fridays. I met up with about 10 friends, and spent the better part of that night sharing geek stories and drinking my day's frustrations away. We ended up leaving around 1am, and headed over to Bennigans, where we discussed super hero movies for 2 hours. I ended up leaving with my buddy Nic and his girl Bridgette. I crashed at their place that night, and the next day was quite a trip.
The next day...which was Saturday, I helped hand paint a 1960 Comet (that's a car for those that don't know). It's completely flat black, with red and white scallops coming up the front. It didn't turn out all that bad. It needs some touch up here and there, but for the most part, it looks pretty good from 20 feet away.
After that, we ended up going to Millcreek Taven in University City down in Philly. Well, the bar was nice, but the music was shit. So, I drank pitcher after pitcher of beer....one of which was free from another table of disgruntled music listeners. We left when the show, and our beer was done, and headed over to a friends house (I can't remember his name). Him and his fiance ordered a slew of pizza's, which were quickly devoured. I came home after that and passed out. I didn't wake up until 4pm on sunday.
Sunday night was the usual thing...."card night" with the friends. Unfortunately, there was no alcohol there, so the night was spent sober. After that, I treaded home, and spent today in the comfort of my desk chair working on websites and graphics, and playing this crazily addictive game on my computer. I'm such a bum when I want to be.
Tomorrow, I have to work open to close, and it's going to kill me. I know it. After a 3 day weekend, then having to go in for an entire day, it's going to suck. Bad. Oh well. Gotta make the money somewhere...right? I mean, I have to work until I can find the right formula to grow money on trees. So until that happens, I'm stuck in the world of dead end jobs and people who are disgruntled to be alive because they work in said jobs.
Oh well. Till next week,
Wolfman
