Help! I've being fangoriously devoured by the gelatinous intarwaeb!
I'm back at school and life is somewhat more awesome. The weather has been weird as fuck, though, with temperatures in the 60's. It just makes me miss living up north all the more. I love cold air, snow, ice on ponds, fireplaces and warm cider - these things are in my blood & spirit, and they do tantalize them so. I want to be back in NH, the one place that has ever felt like home...
Rar. I hate Georgia. I hate global warming. Global warming makes the Baby Jesus cry.
I have managed to keep myself reasonably entertained over the last two weeks since coming back to school, and I kept the apartment uber-clean. That's another of my big resolutions for this semester: I want this place to look more like the apartment of two mature guys instead of a hog trough (though some would argue that there's no difference between the two... MOVING ON). I got tons of stuff done from my to-do list, and was also able to hang out with friends and my loyal girlfriend-shaped snuggle-partner. Bonus!
Most everything is going well, despite the fact that I've been causing someone a great deal of stress lately. I just hope that she gets the message that she's my good friend and I want her in my life, instead of fading out of it. If she needs her space, I'll give it, but I need to know if that's what she wants. Meh. The things I do to the people I care about...
Classes started ok, but this semester is shaping up to be one of my hardest ever. French and US History don't pose too much of a problem, but my three 4000-level International Relations courses might. I've already had two professors try to scare me away with big talk about how "unique" and difficult their classes are. Pshaw. I can hack it. I have to hack it, if I want to get gradja-mitated within a reasonable span of time.
Another big resolution of mine involves several parts. I want to get healthy and be more active. I've got a better schedule this semester so I plan on hitting the climbing wall at least twice a week, with some weights and swimming thrown in there for good measure. I've got sailing team regattas and maybe some backpacking trips in the pipe, and I want to come out of this semester climbing at a higher level than I ever did (which is still saying something). It may seem like a full plate, but I'm going for it with all the gusto I can muster.
As well, I want a jaerb. Being penniless AND carless is torture, especially when I want more serious tattoos, a newish pair of climbing shoes, and money for trips to Tallahassee, NH and Boston. I really want a bartending job, but in this town you have to "know somebody" in order to get one, and I've also been told that I'm overqualified to tend bar here (after $600 worth of bartending classes... irony, yes?). I've already applied at the Outdoor Rec center and the climbing wall, and I think I'll try the golf course as well. They're accepting applications for "kart attendants." >
Anyways. I'm looking to make this a more fun yet more productive (if possible) semester than the last. Any help at this task would be appreciated.
Oh, and if I added you as a SG friend and you have no idea who I am, chances are I read something funny and/or awesome that you posted on the SG forums that endeared you to me... or that you're just plain hot... or that you have awesome ink. Yeah, especially that last part. If you'd like to know me better or you'd just like to know that I'm not a stalker, message/IM me sometime. I don't bite, I serenade (if by serenade you mean pelt with Fluffernutter sandwiches).
Va bene, ciao.
