Two beer bacon cheddar cheeseballs and two loaves of sharp cheddar bread in progress. I do like the way my kitchen smells on holidays, even if I"m only a fan of Samhain. The holidays were always about the smells and sounds for me this time of year anyway. Bread, ham, turkey abd so forth. Cinnamon and spices strewn about my Grandmother's house where we met for family dinners. To everyone in uniform far away from home this year, we're thinking about you. Eyes and ears open so you can be home next year.

@shesuseless They really do. I think many people have gotten so wrapped up in everday and nonsensical things that the heart has gone out of most occasions like this. I understand that Jr. wants a new xbox one and Jenny wants half of the Prada catalog, but forgetting where you're from and the people who are always there for you will kill your soul. Sometimes you have to tell a few people to get bent so you can spend time with the people who matter remembering, and building, new irreplaceable memories.
