Been a gude 'n busy weekend!
Friday was the last day for Patrick at work. Patrick and I go back ten years now. He was the publisher of a Colorado based live music mag called Rover that we started in the mid nineties. He left his grapic desing job with our company to be a full time pops. That little girl is stoked. He's going to be great as a role model for her coming up. Anyways we had a bit of a throwdown for him at a bar after work. Then when I was good and loopy it was time to go to my Hockey practice. After getting super sweaty I headed over to a friends place as he was having a small get togeher for his birthday. Standard great time with those guys. His wife Ali is as beautiful on the innerds as the crust... Which is to say she's awesome. Anyhow, my friend is quite toasty and coaxes us up on the roof. Sweet full-esque moon lighing up the front range of the mountains. Striking fo' sho'. So we are up there bullshitting for a while and this car pulls up right in front of his house... slows down turns out the lights... a young kid 15, or 16 gets out and it looks like a kid has been out partying and it's two am and he's sneaking home, but no...
...cliff hanger.. ;-)
Claire Fisher has sex with a hot lesbian and I didn't even get the lousy t-shirt. We get to ogle at every one in that show gettin' busy, except the one girl that really matters... ;-(
Back to the saga... so that kid starts to go to different cars and try thier handles to find an open one. Little shit was trying to rip off cars or thier contents... most likely contents. Sadly the other guys I was with started yelling at him before we could talk about what to do. I'd had rather gone down their and caught their little asses, or let the cops know what they're doing. What kinda jerk do you gotta be to go around doing shite like that? But the fact that it happened right in front of us was so random and considering the talk and coaxing that it took to get us on the roof it almost seemed a bit like fate.
So.. started playing another hockey team in addition to my thursday league... this one is on Sunday morrnings. Been scoring some goals lately which makes me feel a little less like a goon. ;-)
Asked a girl that I've known since Jr. High out on a date today. You know I think it was the first time I've ever actually asked someone out. And I wonder why I don't date. ;-)
Usually I just try for coffee or let a friendship grow... but I used the "date" word and everything. She sweetly rejected me. Tee hee. Her reason was fairly solid.. Still married but separated for two years... but both still in love, just not sure yet if they are going to reconcile and get back togeher or not. She seemed genuinely flattered that I'd ask, so that made it easier. Maybe she was just letting me down nicely. ;-)
I think I'm going to keep it up and ask other girls out as well. Man I'm in heaven with all my new neighbor girls. Manitou is crawling with natural Dave-type girls, to suicide or riot grrls. Loving it. They all have dogs too! ;-)
Getting the place in order. I'm really digging it. I'll have to take some pics to share.
Hmmm... I know I had a lot more to say and I owe y'all some good conversation, but I'm tapped. Catch y'all soon!
Hey! Check out one of my favorite peoples of all times, Yves' Journal. If'n she'd let me, I'd marry her... but I don't think she will. ;-)

Did you literally move into a cottage? Props on axin the girl out. Her loss. You should make a date asking quota so you're like well even if I'm shy I have to ask her because I have to make my quota. No options. You'll get mad dates. You're a big cuddley hockey boy. Who in their right mind wouldn't love that?
You al should've totally creeped on those bastard kids and taugh them a lesson. My boys would've been throwing DOWN. Those kids wouldn't have walked away. But thats how we roll in Chicago. Yay-YAAAEEEE. Souuuuuuuth Siiiiiiiiide!
