Hiya guys!
Phewwhat a day!
By rights I should be tucked up in bed, or have my nose in a book or somethinghave got a job interview in the morningits the 4th interview with the same peopleshit, they like to take their time! The guys thatre interviewing me are a bunch of university lecturers, its gonna be a tough one. On balance I probably shouldnt have gone out for a drink or two after workbut fuck it.
As fate would have it, a couple of the guys I work with have just resigned at its their last day tomorrowso lots of leaving boozy celebrations todaydown the pub at 12, back to work at 3, then back down the pub at 5
Pub trips with people from work are funnythe majority are repressed sensible types who sit nursing their drinksmake a few comments here and there and look at the reactions and you soon spot the interesting onesits funny how it works. Does anybody else get that? Im always amazed at how a group of people can sit together and each have totally different perspectiveI spose thats whats so brilliant about meeting people. It always seems to be the people with imagination or the ones who dont quite fit in that I get on with most really.the oness who just seem to think about things a bit more
One of the guys I was talking to has lung cancerI mean fucking hellgot a wife and kid and been given a handful of months to liveone Thursday out of every 3 he gets off, the rest he has chemotherapy. Technically hes my boss, but Ive never met him before because hes been off work for so longreally, really funny guy. Hes on some kinda program where they give him experimental drugsit seems that his cancer is being controlledI wish him the best. Kinda puts my silly problems in to perspective a bit.
So, you guyswere you popular at school? In your school how was popularity determined? I was never populartoo much of a loner really. In my school sports had a lot to do with itit was only a crappy little small town school, but it seemed that the confident sporty types were all in the in crowdand then there was everybody else.hahaha, and then there was meat least, thats how it seemed at the time
Regrets and bitterness.not on your lifetaking a quick look at friends reunited it seems that all the kids who had the world on their plate at 14 are total fuck ups now.whereas the weird kids seem to have gone on and done some pretty cool stuff.

I always like the guys who made my friends say, "What? You like him?" Not that he would ever have known it though. I was too much of a dork for that.
You mentioned going on to do some really cool stuff. Well one weird kid who I thought was so cute, did just that. (no, i never spoke to him of course)
http://www.fortune.com/fortune/print/0,15935,1050065,00.html You don't have to read it all but about halfway, you'll see the name Chris Payne. Can you imagine saying to your boss, "Mr Gates, I need $100 million and 18 months to build a search engine and I want all of Microsoft's brainiacs to help." And he says yes. Now that's some cool stuff.
Oh and good luck tomorrow. I'm sure you'll do fine.
