Been a very chilled weekend, went in to the city yesterday for a hot date
It went well but I didn't really feel that all important spark. She's a cool lass, so hopefully we'll stay in touch though.
It was good to be back in London...walking down Charing Cross Road and through Soho I realised how much I missed the sights and the sounds. After 7 years of living there I'd become the mildly stressed, gotta get there in a hurry commuter...the contrast yesterday was amazing - I could feel the difference in myself when I was on the tube and just walking around. I felt so relaxed. I'm a scoundral for people watching...everyone here in guildford looks kinda the same...so to have have lots of new material was excellent.
I'm by nature a fairly chilled out person, but being sensitive get a bit overloaded when I'm bombarded with stimulation all the time - the constant sea of people in the big cities wears me down after a while, I end up locking myself away at home and not wanting to leave the house...I'd been thinking hard about moving back to the city - and I miss all of the good bits...but I wonder if I should be so quick to give up the relative tranquility here - even if there is bugger all to do. I guess I've always lived in very popular parts of london so perhaps I could have my cake and eat it by choosing a different area. Or maybe staying here buying a car and making more effort to travel in. We'll see.
Walking through Soho last night back to the tube after the date, I was approached by a prostiture...it was pretty heartbreaking...I'd seen her from a distance - pretty, petite, blonde early 20's - and given her the once over, not realising she was working...then when I got closer she came up to me "Lady for the Evening Sir?". It was her eyes - I could tell she'd been using...the scene'll stay with me for a while.
Jesus, imagine that life?
So I got up on friday to find a fairly large bug, a beetle type thing, on my living room floor...it was on its back with its legs flailing...I helped him find his legs (not as easy a task as it sounds) and let him go about him business...I had a shower, left the bathroom to find the bugger in my kitchen hallway - upside down, legs flailing...another few minutes past while I helped him back up again, and off he walked. I had my breakfast and was just leaving, when I found him in my main hallway - upside down, legs in the air. "You've gotta be kidding?", I said...and left the flat leaving him as he was...I went all the way downstairs and was just about to leave the building when I thought "awww fuck it", I went all the way back upstairs to help the bugger back up again. Haven't seen him since - no calls, no choclates, no thank you notes - he didn't even do the washing up!

.... ok, yeah, you're probably correct.
