TOTALLY STOKED!!!!

So I wake up to go to a work meeting in which all of the workers get bitched out basically about being sloppy, wasting company money etc. Random drug testing is being enforced cuz we have some sped out chodes that like to get all high at work. Good, I hope they get fired.
Anyhow, I go up to my boss and ask to speak with him for a second after the meeting. I enter his office and tell him that im hurting for cash right now, and could use any overtime or out of town work that is available.
He starts to speak a sentance... "Well, the thing about out of town work, is that your not going to be going out of town..."
Im thinking to myself, "Great, this doesnt sound good. Im sure ive come into work hungover one too many times and despite my hard work, he's only heard the bad."
He follows up the start of the last sentance with:
"Because no one that youve worked with in town wants to let go of you."
I was on cloud fucking 9. Its such a nice feeling to be recognized for hard work.
I just started working there 5 months ago. A big point of the meeting this morning was that there was room to move up if you're dedicated. He made it clear in the meeting that there were people in the company who have only been there for a year that are running their own jobsites, while there are people there that have been there for four years who are still in the same position they had when they started.
We ended the conversation with him re-iterating the above statement, and telling me that he's heard nothing but impressive remarks about me and that im on the right track.
Im going in sometime this week to 'sit down and talk with him'. Which means I have a promotion and/or a raise in the wings.
Both is fine by me.
To top it all off, I got 8 hours of overtime and $40.00 in milage pay today.
Im physically exhausted, sunburt as all hell, and have to wake up in four hours to work tommorrow, but I couldnt feel any better about myself.
