I just got a call from a good friend this morning who ended up
in the MGH burn ward after a horrible accident last night. He called
and just told me where he was, that he was scared and little else.
I rushed over thinking he had gotten into a horrible car accident
I have never really lost a friend before or even had one seriously
hurt. It was a candle/housefire accident that wasn't his fault - he probably
kept the house from burning down, but he spilled wax all over his
front from the waist down.
The fucking night nurses/drs didn't really tell him that it
was going to be ok, that in the grand scheme of things it wasn't
that bad.... So he had a whole night of that before I saw him.
They took off the bandages and told him he doesn't need surgery
and will ultimately heal completely. Lucky Lucky Lucky
I am pretty freaked right now, so glad for my friends - all of
them - New, Old, close or far - thank you for existing I luv you!

Yeah... times like that... it makes you snap your head around and really look at life... thinking "wow, life is actually so extremely unpredictable and fast and weird and fragile..." That happened to me recently; a guy I knew died od cancer at the age of 19.... horrible and strange and disturbing... and it made me just think about how unbelievably happy I am to know the people I know, do the things I do. hehe... ::orchestral music swells!:: sorry. but yeah... i understand!
