Just got a call from my parents that my grandmother just had emergency surgery. She had colon cancer that pretty much spread. Something went wrong I guess. She's out of surgery and okay for now but is in intensive care. Regardless of her health, I'm pretty sure this surgery wiped her memory clean. She's had 4 surgeries (this being the 4th), and after the first 3 (which were all done in the span of a week), her short term memory was gone, she couldn't make any new memories whatsoever.

It just sucks. Because if she does live... what kind of life is it?
