So I just met this chick that led a very similar life to mine, but took hers in the opposite direction...
She has had a very sexually active life, whereas I've only been with one girl, ever, she got pregnant at 18, almost married the guy, but got an abortion instead, and just recently broke it off with him, she smokes pot regularly and does coke at least once a week, whereas I've never done drugs in my life, she drinks like a fish, when I just enjoy a drink every now and then, and don't get drunk, ever...
She's a recovering self-mutilator, whereas the depth of my neurosis is laziness and oversleeping... She recently did ecstasy and reverted back to her habits, cutting herself up pretty bad... causing her to realize that she needs to seriously change her life. She says she hasn't done any drugs since the ecstasy incident a week ago, and wants desperately to get off her ass and find something she cares about again.
I'd love to help her, and, coming from a fairly pampered, self-sheltered life, am really attracted to someone who's seen the worst of life. I want to hear what it's like, and do what I can to help her get out of her habits... but how do I deal with my tendency to want to judge her for her habits, and her past... I think I can do that, but more importantly, how can I maintain a relationship with her, and support her getting out of drugs and alcohol, but make sure I don't become a crutch...
The last thing I want to do is set up a dependency... She needs to do this on her own, but I want to support her... without getting to a point where backing out isn't an option.
I've never had a brush with the worst of life this close... how do I stay here without getting burned or sucked in?

you posted something in the band tattoo thread about knowing a girl with 'immerse your soul in love' on her, so i just wanted to know if you have any pics or anything, or could describe it (font, etc), as i have an appointment to get the very same thing written on me, and my orginality is now shot!
thanks!
