Today, I was going to write a post for my blog about Obama, wondering when the guy I thought I campaigned and voted for was going to come back ... but after going through the record of his first two years in office, I'm beginning to wonder if he ever existed at all.
The more I dig, the angrier I get. I thought I was voting for a Democrat who would seriously change the direction our country was set upon by years of Republican policies and Clinton's craven triangulation. I thought we'd get trials for the people who tortured, the people who lied our country and our allies into a disastrous war. I thought we'd get meaningful health care reform that brought the US into line with every other First World nation. I thought we'd see some fucking fighting for the middle class and the poor ... and I haven't seen any of that.
I had to take my HOPE poster down from my office wall, because whenever I looked at it, all I saw was a liar, a coward, and the greatest disappointment in national politics since I first voted twenty years ago.

Although I am not a proponent of anarchy, the whole frackin system needs to be burned to the ground. Remember that Jefferson recommended that the constitution be burned each generation and re-written. We're a few generations behind but it's time to start over and build a working government (again).
