I'm working a little bit before I officially end my blogging day (does a day ever *really* end when you're in this world? I don't think it *really* does.)
I'm listening to XM, and The Art of Noise's Paranoimia just came on, complete with Max Hedroom-y goodness.
I just had too many hyperreal memory flashes related to this album, most of them about being 13 and 14 and falling in love with a weird an new form of music which I listened to while swimming in my backyard, to recount with any sort of accuracy or lucidity.
All I know is that this album makes me incredibly happy, this song especially.
The final image while the song ends is me, sitting on my parents' couch in my bathing suit, wrapped in a towel, playing Gyromite on NES while waiting for my mom to finish making whatever it was we were having for lunch that day. It must have been late summer in 1986 or 1987.
Now it's playing "I Confess" by English Beat. This floods me with equally happy memories of crushing SO FUCKING HARD on this girl who will remain nameless, while speeding around Glendale and Burbank in my best friend Darin's VW Bug.
Gods, I love music so much.

Great opening line on the WoW outage news story. Makes me glad I quit the MMORPG thing.
